The University of Reading is internationally recognized for the excellence of its teaching on a broad range of Arts, Humanities and Sciences programs. The University offers taught degree programs in more than 60 subjects, and in excess of 250 part-time adult education courses.

The University of Reading dates back to the end of the 19th century and it received its Royal Charter in 1926. it is based on 3 campuses, all within 10 minutes of Reading town centre - the beautiful 320 acre Whiteknights parkland campus, and the campuses at Bulmershe Court and London Road. With a student population of more than 15,000 the University makes a significant contribution to the town.
The Library is the focus of the Whiteknights campus with the academic buildings, the Senior Common Room and the Students' Union grouped around it. Most of the Halls of Residence lie around the northern perimeter. Bulmershe Court is about a mile away and houses the Faculty of Education and Community Studies. These buildings are excellently equipped for teacher educational trust in close collaboration with the University. All sites are well supplied by bus links to the town. In addition to its housing and academic buildings the University runs over 800 hectares of farmland which are used for agricultural teaching and research.
